Signing in, passwords and two-factor

Request a password reset
- On the forgot password page, enter the email address for your account.
- Select Send reset link.
- Once you receive the email, follow the link to set a new password.
A reset link works once and expires. If the link no longer works, ask for a fresh one rather than using the old email again.
Change a password
- Sign in and open Account Settings.
- Select Password.
- Enter your current password and your new password.
Two-factor authentication
We take codes from an authenticator app: Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, or any other TOTP app. Turn it on under Two-factor authentication on Account Settings:
- Confirm your password.
- Scan the QR code, or type the key by hand.
- Enter one code to finish.
Once it is on, we ask for a code when you sign in, when you change or reset your password, when you change your email address, when you close your account, and to turn two-factor off again.
If you lose your authenticator
Without it you cannot sign in, and you cannot set a new password yourself. Contact us and say which email address the account uses. We will ask you a few things to confirm the account is yours.
